Hervey Bay Unplanned Outage - High Speed Wireless Services - Hervey Bay

We are aware of an unplanned outage affecting our higher speed wireless services in Hervey Bay, QLD.

Teams have been dispatched to site and fault finding has identified an issue with the radio.

Despite wet weather, a risk analysis has been performed and the tower team has decided it is safe enough to climb the tower.

Climbing will begin by 11:30am once safety checks have been performed on all equipment.

Further updates will be provided once tower top troubleshooting has been completed.

  • Replacement radio has been installed and onboarded. Connections are restoring. We will continue to monitor this situation along with the vendor over the next 24hrs to ensure all services are operational.

  • After exhausting all troubleshooting options including running new fibre up the tower, we believe the base node is faulty. A replacement radio has been organised. We expect the ETR to be COB tomorrow (26/03/24). Further updates will be provided once they are available.

  • Tower crew is ascending the tower in the EWP. Further updates will be available soon.

  • We received an update that the EWP platform should now be able to arrive by 2PM

  • Wet weather has set in and it has been deemed unsafe to climb the tower. An elevated work platform has been booked and is due to arrive at 3PM. Tower crews are on standby until EWP arrives.
